Who knows what causes the vision or mild turning in your vision when you have BPPV? Is it the particles shifting or is it the fact that one inner ear is not working like the other? Is it the bad ear sending the wrong message to the brain? Also has anyone had these vision problems and got rid of them with rehab? Thank You Billy

Hiya

I suffer with the vision problems and from what I have heard it is caused by the visual/ vestibular mismatch. And the eye exercises in the vrt is supposed to help. What visual symptoms do you get? I get visual jumping, shifting, distortion, shimmering and occasional blurring.

Sound familar at all??

HI STAR I walk down the hallway and the whole hallway tilts or rocks to one side for a second and goes back to normal,I guess anything could happen when you have vertigo!

Hi Billy

its all part of this vesibular mess. some of us have similiar symptoms others different. For me its like constantly having a heat haze or a fuzzy tv screen in front on my eyes... or when reading things jump around the page. Heavily patterned carpets, walls, shirts etc all cause the same effect and things seem like they are moving... basically the eye and the ear are closely connected and so the messages moving between all the balance sensors get affected. Everyone on here says it goes with time so you just have to kind of ride it out... not pleasant but know its nothing serious and it will pass!

I get that too, especially if i stare at patterns they seem to swirl and move its horrible but i've got so used to things moving around me it doesnt bother me as much. Also get same problems with linear things, we have tramlines in the city i live in and every morning when i walk over them i feel like they raise up and i'm going to trip over them, its all a bit strange !!

Count me in as well. Straight lines in fabric seem to bug me the most. If I stare at my patterned couch it seems to swirl and move until I look away from it. I also get really disoriented in rooms without windows that have no paintings or anything on the wall...just one solid color. I can't seem to get my bearings when looking at a blank wall.
