View Full Version : What could this be?

5 days ago, I woke up and had my usual breakfast and within minutes of eating, my stomach started to rumble like it does when you are getting the stomach flu. I thought that I might be getting sick but I didn't, instead everytime I eat, usually within seconds of food or drink (even water), my stomach starts to move and rumble and then I burp alot or get gas. I have a dull "knot" feeling at the top of my stomach just below my rib cage. I have been taking Mylanta liquid after every meal. Last night I was uncomfortable sleeping on my stomach. My stomach doesn't burn and I don't burp up acid like you do with heartburn. The knot in my stomach almost feels like you do after you throw up a bunch of times...like the soreness you feel. If anyone has any thoughts about this please reply....I am thinking it is just indigestion because it came on so fast and hasn't let up but I don't want to dismiss anything that could be serious. I don't even want to eat anymore because I feel so yucky for at least an hour afterward.

It may be a hiatal hernia--- that's where they occur???

It sounds like after eating that your stomach is going into spasms. It usually indicates that you lack magnesium or calcium in your diet. You could try taking a magnesium supplement several times daily for better absorption of the magnesium. Some people think 60 to 70% of people lack magnesium in their diet.
I suggest you try it--- most of us get enough calcium in our diet with dairy products but not enough magnesium???
