im posting here because about 20 hours ago i overdosed on adderall with 180 mg with in a 6-8 hour period... i had no idea what it really did and was kinda led on by a friend that it was a ok amount.. obviously i know its not now once i got home and searched up on it.. I now have a real tight chest feeling that makes it hard to breath.. the adderall effects are all gone i can sleep.. but my apitite is completely gone and this breathing thing is concerning me alot.. Does this go away relitivaly fast? i cant bare to have this feeling for more then a day or 2 at most.. if not is there anything i can take for it to go away? any help is greatly apreciated

First of all...what is the dose that is prescribed for you? There are reasons, very good ones, that this is a CONTROLLED substance and it seems to me that the "friend" who led you into believing that 180 mg. in a 6-8 hour window is no friend at all. For what reason were you exceeding your prescribed dose and why would you believe a friend without first checking with your doctor. This medication is a potent stimulant and if you would like a heart attack or to die, follow your "friend's" advice. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and please check with your doctor before toying with the dosage. I may sound harsh and in a way this is meant to be because you ask what to do and what you have done is highly irresponsible.

First of all, you should know that you are going to get a lot of harsh coments on this board about taking prescriptions not prescribed to you as well as the fact that it was illegal. Now, why did you take it, do you think you have ADD or did you take it to lose weight? These kinds of drugs can lead to potential problems taking them in a normal dosage, you could die of a heart attack or organ failure from overdosing. But, my daughter used to take Ritalin and my younger daughter got into it and took about 3 pills. I was told by poison control that she would be fine. Besides being extremely hyper, she was fine the next day. If you are still feeling the effects I suggest going to the hospital, but remember, what you and your "friend" did is illegal. :eek:

WoW! That's A LOT! Was it all at once or spaced out? Because to be honest, I'm surprised your not in a hospital! I'm really not sure how old you are, body weight, normal dose etc. I know you must be scared(and that's not helping), but I really think you should go to doctor. I feel that by asking for help here, you do too. You cared enough to ask, care enough to admit you made a bad choice, learned a valueable lesson, and now make a good one and put your health and life ahead of your fears! Most cities have free clinics, or try calling a local hospital w/a nurseline. You might even try calling a drug rehab clinic. You've put a lot of stress on your heart and you want to make sure no damage has been done. The drug is still in your system, even if you can sleep. Stay away from caffeine and please don't try taking "something". Take care of yourself!! Please post after(if) you go to the doc.

I don't know if your still here, but try calling any pharmacist-they HAVE to have a 4 year PhD in pharmacology. Also, just F.Y.I.- There are different levels of controlled substances. Adderall is the highest level and comes with a federal warning. It not like getting caught w/pot, it's like getting caught w/heroin. I had mine STOLEN and everyone including my doc and pharmacist had to report it. Good Luck

Comparativley, a typical amphetamine addict uses 2-300mg at once..and usually again at some point in that day. And this is not justifing what you did in any way. First, If you had overdosed on the adderall, you wouldnt have been able to make your post. Secondly, It is a very dumb thing to take someone else's pills in the first place, but to take someone's amphetamine pills is something diffrent. That is not like taking four shots of tequila because you're the man or like you popped a xanax ... That is a schedule II controlled substance and if you are caught with any, or under the influence of it, it is a felony, as it is also to posess schedule II narcotics (second only to illicit and illegal narcotics) without a prescription. but 180 MG?? would you take 18 XTC pills if your friend said it was OK too? You could seriously give yourself a major heart attack if you mess around with adderall. Its strength is second only to Dexedrine. If you went to the ER, you and your friend would be in some deep doo.

Notoni - It's 24 hours after you posted your symptoms from overdosing. I hope by now that you have called your doctor and he/she has helped relieve your symptoms. DO NOT allow yourself to "bear with" them. It's not healthy. Please, if you can, update here as to how you are now.

i havnt gone to a doctor cuz i cant aford it but i feel fine.. i just have trouble breathing sometimes like i cant get a big breath.... but besides that im fine =P i know it was a dumb thing to do taking all them adderalls the other people that were with me did more and they were fine.. one did 280 mg and the other 210 using 20 and 30 mg pills both are fine now. =P i hate cafeine and adderall now but im fine thanks for caring everyone i didnt even expect to get a reply when i posted this =)

I'm am so glad to hear to are fine. I was worried! I even went by my doc. to ask what to do. I would love to yell at you about what a dangerous choice you made, but you already know. Take Care of YOURSELF.

ok yea im basically in the same boat here except mine is way worse
i know that its bad it was also my first time i swallowed all 6 30 mgs i belive they were adderalls but i did them all at once then smoked weed, and then had about 1200 mg of caffeine if that low i think i had more caffeien except iv been shaking for a good 12 hours although now the shaking has seem to calm down and i can almost control it i lost the high but i got it back again and im feeling a bit numb.
i havnt sleept in a day before of this terrible idea i had. please dont yell at me just yet becasue im only writing this for help so that my gf doesnt have to go though like the possible pain of me dying ( i didnt wanna sound conceided and say she was definetly going to be hurt by this) umm i really need help i belive and the whole hospital idea is out of the question, i will only do that when i starts foaming from the mouth and even then i will hesitate to call 911. ok so were was i, right i took all of that im still shacking a little bit and im a tad numb around my body so please help i might have to post another bulletin becasue i dont want my gf to be like hurt if i die...can i die...i wouldnt doubt it, i dont know how i even got to write all of this. i dont know how im still alive but im not sure if its going to last please help me
