Minocycline is a potent Matrix Metallo Protease (MMP) inhibitor. MMP's have been shown in increased levels in MS Patients, and are known to weaken the Blood Brain Barrier, which aids the invasion of autoreactive T cells into the CNS.

Some physicians prescribe Minocycline to their MS diagnosed patients.
