I've had pretty bad pain in the bottom of my wrists on and off for about three months now. Sometimes it's so bad i can't sleep. I had an EMG done and it said everything was fine. I went to a specialist and he said despite the EMG,he believed it was carpal tunnel. I occasionaly get numbness and soreness in my hand (slightly). What i'm wondering is can carpal tunnel cause pain in the bottom of your wrist (right where your wrist bends down). It kills there and hurts a lot when i type. IF i bend my wrists down the symptoms get worse. The guy who did the emg said no, but the specialist said yes. Do any of you with carpal tunnel have that same type of pain?

Also, the specialist gave me a cortisone shot for carpal tunnel and that seemed to dull the pain for a good month and a half. Is that a good indication it's carpal, or is that same shot used to treat other disorders like tendonitus?
