Hope-- last year about this time a member --bluepumkin-- asked about using an alternative to PPIs for GERD and I recommened he try magnesium. Since then, alot of people have used it and a homeopathic remedy with good success including blupumkin. It is well documented on this board!!
To find his messages just go to the bottom of this board's page and Search for bluepumkin -- there is alot that has been written about using magnesium for GERD but not as much for using Calcium. As you may know Tums is made of calcium carbonate for heartburn and indigestion but most that is written about calcium and magnesium is for nutrition reasons ---not just to relieve indigestion when you get it.
After reading the messages ---if you have any questions --- post them and someone will respond!!
God Bless--- Harry
