Does anyone know how long it takes for your body to adjust to no caffeine? I am a big soda drinker. I haven't had any soda for 2 days (trying to quit) and have been getting headaches. I don't drink coffee, and I try tea only occassionally so it shouldn't be a huge withdrawl. I hope it's not too much longer! I am under a lot of stress right now, so that could be contributing, but I'm hoping most of the pain is from the lack of caffeine.

Thanks
Beth

i remember when i tried giveing up caffine from coke, i got terrible headaches and had to start drinking it again. when i stopped drinking it the first time i felt terribly sick and got bad headaches (worse than my normal ones). i then slowly went off it again
it HAS to be a slow process. i guess like giving up cigarettes or something. i now only drink coke in whisky or scotch etc.

I had a look on the net for any info on this and found an article about caffeine withdrawals. It said that the symptoms can last from about 1-7 days, sometimes longer. It suggested that instead of going cold turkey, reduce your intake.

It said that withdrawal can be done fairly easily by starting to cut caffeine intake in half or thirds for a couple of days then cut it in half and continue cutting until completely off caffeine. It can take from 1-3 weeks to withdraw without symptoms.
