Hi everybody, I have not posted since back at the start of the year right before I finished my group and I wanted to come back and give everyone an update on how I am doing. I am happy to report that life just keeps getting better for me. I was in a 12-week cbt support group in Hollywood not far from where I live and we used the "Been there, done that? Do This!" book by sam obitz and it realy has helped me gain confidence and learn to handle stress so it does not get in my way anymore. My energy level and out look have improved so much a lot of people tell me how much more fun I am to be around and work with now. Before I often felt like people avoided being around me and now they want to hang with me! I am so thankful for cbt and the obitz book as they are both off the hook :) Best of all my love life is thriving like never before. Thanks to everyone who offered advice and support especially Billy!

Thanks for sharing saul :) I have had similar success
and I had really bad panic disorder before I got
involved in my cbt group. We used the obitz book and
Mastery of your Anxiety and Panic-Third Edition by
Michelle Craske and David Barlow in my group which
focussed more on panic disorder. Billy really
encouraged me to and i wish he would post more often
here but he has not been around much lately so he may
not see your note. Take care :)

Two success stories for Billy and the CBT group. Good job promoting a therapy that is proving to have a great track record for many. Great to hear some are doing well and I am sure that others will follow. Keep up the good work CBT people.
Sincerely,
Sickman :)

I SOOOOO want this Sam Obitz book but can't find it in Aus. Anybody have any clues how I can get it. I even emailled the site and got no response.
I've been trying to get into a CBT group. Recently there was an ad in our paper about a university doing a study group on panic attacks, so I called them and got an assessment booking. The study involved 3 groups - 1 with anti depressants and CBT, one with just Anti Dep, and one with just CBT. I asked for just CBT, then they cancelled my appointment due to enormous response they received. (just goes to show how many of us out there suffer from this). Anywho, now I can't get in, and I just want this book until they do another study in Sept/Oct.
