first let me start off by saying i had colon resection surgery last sept 11th 2003 for a perforation due to diverticulitis, i had a colostomy and then had the reconnection dec 18th 03, now i had the full surgery, not lap, now for the past 2 weeks ive had a dull pain which started on my right side but since then has moved around my belly, sometimes on my left side(exactly where my scar is from the colostomy) and also near my belly button (which is in the middle of my 8 inch scar) my bowel movements have slowed down and my belly feels distended after i eat,i had an abdominal ultrasound sound on 7/11 and came back normal, i went to see my surgeon and he along with my pcp feels its gall bladder and not scar tissues or adhesions, now they want me to go see a gi specialist, i just wanted to know if any of you have had similar pains that move around and get bloated after eating, im very gassy too(sorry too much info)ive been eating alot healthier since the surgery and illness has scared me to death, also i did loose 70 pounds from the onset of the divers last may03,of course everyone has an opinion such as its crohns to ibs to colitis, im just trying to learn from others and this board has helped me in the past, thanks, sorry this is long but i want to give as much info as i can remember

Hi Ken,
IMHO, I would tend to think it is related to the surgery, if your pain is near the scar and belly button. Gall bladder pain is normally felt higher up and often times is more intensely felt in the back, near the right shoulder blade.
