Hi All,
I don't usually post because I find everything is usually covered here.I was diagnosed 4yrs.ago with add.I knew I had somthing all my life.I still have report cards,a diploma after 8th.grade with social Promotion accross the top,and not 1 book read to say the least.I was given adderall, which changed my life.My thoughts were put in order,I began to finish projects, etc.I take
reg.20mgs 3 tid. After this long it do's work only the ups and downs are worse.I also am bi-polar,under control. The adderall is the worst down at nite.
I've tried to go longer between dosing, then my day is up-down.I have an appt.tue.,I was thinking about the xr version.I tried it before,a long time ago,but I really need somthing done now.I'm sure that's the only change
doc would permit being my bi-polar meds are perfect.I'm sure I would have to take the xr twice a day.
I just need some input.I can't take a drug holiday,because I can't chance a
mania.Should I see about a change or adderall xr.
I don't have stimulant sleep problems,never did.
I don't want my life to return to chaos.I know increasing is not good, being on
this ammount for so long.
I just need feedback soon.I can't trade in my normal thinking.Oh,by the way,i do finnish what I start..But,I still never could read a book.

The XR version would give you fewer ups and downs during the day but you would continue to have the "down" at night. Concerta and Metadate are longer-acting than Adderall and have a smoother ride down in the evening, but might not work as well for you.

By the way, a drug holiday would be more likely to cause some mild depression than mania. But, if you choose to go that route, be sure to get tapering instructions from your doctor: "cold turkey" might be very uncomfortable for you.

Good luck!

Thank You so much for taking time to help.On tue. I'm going to ask about a change in meds.I don't think I could even try to deal anymore with adderall. But,not bad after 4 yrs.of an organized life.I even taught myself to type.a book still cannot hold my interest.that can be my next project!
Great to meet you.
