Wonder if anybody here has tried taking Aloe Vera juice for stomach problems? I was talking to my sister the other day, and she said she takes this. It has helped her more than Prevacid, etc. She uses the juice, but I'm wondering if the tablets would be just as effective.
I have intermittent stomach problems. It will get so bad that my stomach swells up (probably gas) and feels like needles are just poking it. I can be really hungry but not want to eat because I don't want to put anything in my stomach! I've used gas pills and a product called Omnigest (enzymes) that helps some. Also Prevacid for a few days to get acid out of there, hoping this will help healing. This can go on for a few days or weeks, and then go away for a long time. But it comes back. No bowel problems or problems with digestion. Juice pain in stomach. Went to gastroenterologist a few years ago, and he didn't know what it was, but never did a stomach scope.
Just curious if anybody else has this problem and if Aloe Vera juice helped.

To Fordy and plm: Hi. I've used Aloe Vera in juice form on and off for many years. I wish I could remember to be more consistent with it, because I can honestly say that it is VERY healing! I'm not saying that I found it to be healing to the point that I could stop all meds, but I definitely lessened meds and also caught some problems in the beginning which would have otherwise gotten worse.
I never did find the tablets to work, though, sorry to say. However, that said, the important thing to do when using the liquid is to make sure it's 100% pure. Going into a health food store means big bucks in most instances, because their TINY bottles are about $10 and only last a week if that. BUT, stores like Walmart and KMart both carry large containers of a 100% PURE Aloe Vera Juice for about $7, and honestly I've had to throw the stuff out and start over after several months because it's lasts so long!! It soooooooothes the stomach and intestinal linings and has healing qualities. Oh, and a little goes a LONG way. You really shouldn't drink more than about 1/4 cup a day anyway, or maybe that twice depending on the condition you're treating. It can be mixed with water or juice, etc.....and for those taking anything like Metamucil, it can be mixed with the water at the same time the bulk is, and taken all at once. I have had nothing but positive experience with Aloe (and thanks for reminding me, haha).

Hi Jbg.....Glad it's helpful info for you (and hopefully others). I'd be interested to hear what your results are, as well, if you decide to try it. Lots of info on the web about the healing qualities of Aloe Vera Juice, so I'm sure you won't have trouble find it. Good luck! :)
