 hi everyone i came across a piece of helpful information this morning i had my wisdon teeth out earlier this week and the extraction site left big holes cuzz my wisdom teeth were so big, i read on someone else thread on how to clean the holes with a water pik but i consulted my oral surgeon and he said that the maybe to stong to use to clean the site so i was lost on how to clean the site beside rinsing with salt water alone.. i had food stuck and couldnt get it out and was to afraid to try to stick something in there to get it out and take the chance of hurting myself...so i asked my boyfriends sister who works in a dentist office cleaning teeth for a living on what to do, her answer was to get a bulb syringe and fill that with the salt water and squirt the holes that way ,works and much more cheaper then a water pik that runs $ 25 and up..tell you what wish i would have known sooner cuzz i think i have a infection now from food that i ate earlier this week and couldnt get out with a simple brush or rinse. hope this may help someone to prevent a infection after surgery...theresa :)

Oh no, hope it is not infected. The salt water might help if it is small. Thanks for the idea about the syringe. I had lots of those around after my kids were born but i work at the hospital so i can bring one home.

I am the person that recommened the water pik. I asked my OS and he said it was perfect. The lowest setting is VERY light and it works 100% better than any type of syringe- I have used both. I am sticking by it- you really should try it. IT IS SO WORTH the $25-$30!!!!!!!!!!

i didnt doubt you i was to my os again today for a check up and asked him since im a week out if i could start using one but he advised me not said it would remove the clots, but i guess there are setting to how hard the water hits im sure and if you never used one might not be a good idea to start after a extraction cuzz of not knowing how to use it right thats what i got from it..i think i will use one after i am totally healed because im sure it has good benifits...ty for the advice its always a help to me and others
