Hi,had surgery about 2 1/2 weeks ago (hemorrhoids, fissure,LIS). I had problems with constipation afterwards and my surgeon prescribed milk of magnesium. I have been taking a dose of it everynight for over a week and now I am afraid to stop taking it.How safe is it for long term use? Also, is it normal to still be bleeding a little? Thanks for your help

I remember when I had my hemorrhoid surgery there was some bleeding for several weeks until things healed (took about 6 weeks to heal totally from memory).

When you say you had constipation problems, do you mean the stool was very hard, or did you just not get the urge to go regularly?

Kris
