Recently my husband has been having severe headaches, daily. He went to see an orthapaedic doctor who diagnosed him as having scoliosis AND arthritis in his neck. Does anyone else have these symptoms or have been diagnosed with this?

No but make sure you don't have a carbon minoxide issue at home!
If you are both getting them I'd get that checked.
We bought a home ten years ago and had a leak in the hot water heater and the whole house had bad headaches. I called the Gas company and he picked up a reading in my driveway it was that high!!!
Just a thought, don't want to scare you but with both of you having them it's something to look into.

I have been diagnosed with scholiosis and told that if I don't change my habits I will end up getting arthritis in my neck. The problem with my neck is that I hold in out too far... which caused scar tissue to develop because of the strange position I hold it in. I get constant headaches if I go untreated for an extended period and I get dull aches in the back of my neck.

My scoliosis has caused minor problems. It's given me bad posture and occasional lower back pain that comes and goes depending on what I'm doing. When I stand at work for long periods of time my lower back will throb. I've found that a heat pad works great for this though!

My orthopedist basically did nothing for me! He took the X-Rays and diagnosed then told me to go to physical therapy. Physical therapy was a joke because they disregarded the fact that I was in pain and didn't help to relieve the pain! They basically made me do uncomforable exercises.

I've found a great solution though! I have been going to a chiropractor for 2 years now and I wish I had gone earlier. The chiropractor adjusts my back whenever I have extreme pain and the joints are tight. He's really helped my neck too. He got rid of all the scar tissue and has me do light exercises to help build up the neck muscles and strengthen my overall posture. I never get headaches now because he does such a great job adjusting my neck.

Personally, I recommend going to a chiropractor. They're painless and covered by most insurance companies. I don't know what I'd do without my chiropractor! :D

Hi!
I have the same problem. I had scoliosis since childhood, but I didn't know that could be the cause of the arthritis in my neck!!! It is very possible though.
I thought I caused it myself with years of sleeping on my stomach with the head turned to the side. I went for a neck X-ray and they said my neck doesn't have the usual curve, it just goes straight down.
I am yet to go to an orthopedic surgeon to determine weather that is from posture or my bad sleeping.
About the headaches - O, brother, I can relate! They are daily and terrible. I get it mostly on my left side of the head, but I get nauseous and very dizzy too. Does you husband have any other symptoms beside the headaches?
Robaxacet always helps. It takes the neck pain away, the headache and the dizziness, but that's no solution. It is only temporary and has to be taken pretty much every day.
What did your husbands doctor recommend?

P.S. I wasn't very lucky with the chiropractors. They gave me a LOT of pain and I don't see them anymore. I guess it depends on a personal experience.

The only symptoms my husband has are the bad headaches. The doctor hasn't prescribed anything yet, just physical therapy which my husband says is helping. I also bought him one of those pillows at are supposed to help support the neck while you sleep. He said that since using the pillow he hasn't waken up with a headache. Oh, before seeing the doctor, my husband would crack his neck to relieve some of the pressure/pain. The doctor told him to stop doing that.

I think that is a wise idea. Never correct your own spine! Especially the neck!
What kind of pillow did you buy him?

I bought him a foam pillow that is flat on one side and the other side has two humps (one on the top and one on the bottom). From the side it kind of looks like a wave. I can't remember what you call these pillows but it's supposed to promote better sleep. I got it at Walmart.
