SaDie :0) StacyP 07-22-2004, 10:47 AM Cindyn - I can't wait until Monday either! Do you have a possibility of multiples?? How many did you transfer? We have just been so thrilled that we got PG on our first try with IVF & ICSI. We had mostily male factor - so it really did the trick. OMG - did your insurance cover any of it? Ours covered NOTHING. It was about $9,500.00 out of pocket for us. It makes it even more awesome that it worked for us. Here is my list of nervous worries for Monday: 1. The number. I am just not sure how DH is going to handle it if we have 3! (Also trying to prepare myself for that possibility.) 2. That something will be wrong. 3. That they won't hear any heartbeats. 4. Ectopic pregnancy. Becoming PG has not slowed the worry wart in me one bit!!!!! We will have to keep in touch since we are so close! Stacy P cindyn 07-23-2004, 10:32 PM StacyP, we did a day 5 transfer of two blastocysts. My nurse said we have a possibility of having more than one (outside of the fact that they transferred two) b/c my beta hcg level was high - 608. Although, I do know some women that had high hcg's and only had one. I'm a little concerned about etopic, but not too much. I am more concerned about if they implanted correctly - are they in a good spot, is everything normal, etc. I didn't think of them not hearing the heartbeats, I just figured my hcg wouldn't keep doubling every two days if something was wrong. Typically, I am very much a worry wart. Dh and I have been talking about raising our kids and what is important. I don't want to pass on to our kids the worrying that I do. So I am working on it, although it is hard. We are fortunate to have IVF covered under our insurance. I have been tempted to leave my job for other reasons in the past year, but knew I had to stay b/c the IF benefits were so good. Looks like that decision paid off. :) Your IVF sounds pretty reasonable. We were quoted - without bene's - $8k, and then meds which were about $3500. Our first u/s is on 8/5. How about yours? We left the fertilization method up to the embryologists - that is part of the deal with our clinic. I guess if we had a preference we could let them know, but we figured they are the experts. They chose ICSI, and it worked out well for us, although dh is normal. Have you told anybody yet or are you going to wait? How are you feeling? I was very bloated, which has just started to go down, and my abs are sore - which my nurse said it is my uterus getting prepared, a good sign. Praying we can keep ourselves worry free!! StacyP 07-27-2004, 12:59 PM Cindyn, Well - we had the first U/S yesterday. Despite high HCG levels - we have one baby! We are actually very happy and relieved. The doctor had a hard time seeing it at first which was very nerve- wracking! Then - there it was. A dark little sac. Just a flutter of an embryo inside. Very hard to see that part. I guess my ovaries are still large after the drugs. They were making a shadow on the ultrasound. Anyway - the little peanut looks good. We have one more U/S in 2 weeks. If all is well, I get transferred to my regular OB/GYN. That will be nice because the IVF clinic is over 2 hours away from us. Well, I can't wait to see how your U/S turns out and how many you have!!! Stacy P |
