I'm in a rut. Trying to get pregnant so I went off Lexpro for a month.
Big mistake. Had my biggest mood swing last night....throwing things, etc.
So, I went back on this morning. (I can't imagine my being able to get pregnant if I'm feeling like that anyway).

I just don't know what I'm going to do when/if I get pregnant.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there an antidepressant I can take
while being pregnant? I can't see a Psychiatrist until October when my
hubby's insurance kicks in. I just want some general info right now.

I also am on lexapro and ttc. My dr. spacifically chose lexzpro for me because I was ttc. I know there are antidepressants you can take while pg but not sure which ones. I also would like to hear from anyone who was on anti depressants while pg. I absolutely can not go off the unless I want to be single by the time I give birth. Off them I'm a total wreak. I am taking a very low dose of lexapro I take 1/2 of a 10mg tab each day. It gives me just enough control to not freak out about every little thing.

I'm the same way. On the lexapro, I'm a normal human being.
Off, I'm totally irrational and cannot function. I'll be seeing a real psychiatrist soon to find out if I can take it during pregnancy, however, at this point it, feels impossible to conceive :( :( :(

Hello again Paula-

Let me know what you find out about Lexapro. I'd hate to switch meds. It works so well for me and its the first I'd tried. I have heard horror stories about people that had trouble finding the right antidepressant.

I have mentioned antidepressants on another message board and I got a bunch of replies from women saying that they went off them when pg or ttc. I just can't imagine that... with all the added stress of ttc and being pg, I would probably be a single mom buy the time the babe was born.LOL DH is pretty understanding to a point he's seen me at my worst and doesn't like it.
You can only expect them to take so much.
