Does anyone know what the long term effects are of having osteoarthritis in the back? Is it something that just gets worse and worse until you have to be in a wheelchair? I am just starting to learn about arthritis and I am so cofused because I can't find any onfo on what eventually happens to the person???

Honestly I'm not sure of that myelf other than it cripples the spine and you become hunched up. Generally it is something that is post menopausal. There are preventative medications you can take if you are in a risk category.
I'd suggest you check out the arthritis foundations main site if you are unable to find the answers you seek here.
