i got my results from the dr yesterday and the results were cis on 1 biopsy and cinIII on 2 of the biopsys and cinII on 1 and chronic inflamation on the last...

i am very nervouse my dr has referred me to a gyn oco. he said it was becasue he didnt think that the (freezing treatmenmt) lack of the actuall termanolgy would be suffice and his facility couldnt afford the leep insturments.. im nervouse to go to a new dr..

ive read all the information for the leep on this message board some are ok and some are really terrible.. i guess if worse case seniero is hystorectomy i would be ok with that beings i do have wonderfull children already .

i would just like some more information on these treatments that i might run in to next week.

thanks again jl

I had the LEEP on 5/26/04 and my pathology results still showed cin III on the upper part of my cervix, towards the uterus. SO, my gyn refered me to a gyn oncologist, stating that he had better equipment to resolve this. I was SOOOO nervous, thinking that he was going to do another biopsy and the only thing he did was check and make sure that everything was healing up ok, which it was, and pap me (which costed $400.00!!). He told me that this really isn't that big of deal, BUT it shouldn't be ignored. He's supposed to perform another $400.00 pap (I have no insurance) in November and move from there. I really wouldn't worry about it! Your regular gyn should've performed the LEEP. Mine did - I was completely out for the whole thing! I'm not quite understanding why he would send you to a cancer specialist for a LEEP. The only thing is that an oncologist isn't like a regular doctor, it's a specialist and I don't know what your insurance issues are (I don't have any :(), but they're VERY costly!

Kimrick, what kind of "better equipment" was your gyn referring to? I have the same thing you do (cin III leep results) and my gyn has been handling all of it at this point, Leep and follow up paps. You've got to be kidding...a $400 pap??
