I had CTS surgery 8 weeks ago. The surgery has been helpful, no numbness in my hand or fingers.
I continue to have soreness and a weakness in gripping my hand. I am a musician and after playing for 45-60 minutes my hand starts to feel like molasses. The ability to play is obviously affected.
Can anyone give me an idea of how long it take to heal? Music is a big part of my life and right now I'm really struggling.
Any response would be appreciated. Thanks.

you might not want to play at all for a little while longer. the healing process depends on how the doctor did the procedure. they have 2 different ways now, one way heals faster than the other. it will also depend on how well you heal. i had the surgery in both hands, my left hand healed great and really fast. however, my right hand tool a good 3 1/2 months to be almost back to normal. give it time. if you try to push it too soon after the surgery you might cause it to heal improperly and cause a whole nother problem. good luck. i hope you get back to your music soon. but like i said before, dont push it. cause if you cause a worse problem, you might not be able to play music ever after that....
