why aren't all foods like cheese? The fat free version tastes so much better, it melts better, I can't think of one solitary thing that regular cheese has better than Fat Free Cheese.

If it doesn't have fat in it, what is it made of? Is it one of those products where they replace the fat with tons of sugar?

Ewwww, fat free cheese tastes like plastic to me. That and it's too expensive. They want to charge outrageous prices for people who are simply trying to watch what they eat.
They can have it.
They can have it.

It's amazing how fat-free or low-fat foods are both yucky tasting and expensive! You would think foods with less fat would be cheaper to make and therefore cheaper in price to the consumer.
One of those mysteries to add to the why are baby clothes the same price as adult clothes? They use less material to make baby clothes so the prices should be very cheap!
I will NEVER understand how the economy works...

lol, good points.
You would also think, that with the growing concern of the 'obesity epidemic' that food manufacturers would want to lend a hand and make their products affordable for everyone. But they're more interested in money than in peoples' health. They know we'll pay it, so they can charge it. But in many cases, the high price of health food forces those with little money to purchase higher-fat items.
This is one of the reasons that obesity is more often seen in low-income families.

Wow, I can't believe that people actually like regular cheese more than fat free. Fat free has tons more flavor and it melts so much better. Yeah, it does cost too much, but that is the price we pay. I wish all fat free foods were better than the regular version.

Hello, I prefer low-fat over fat-free, but hey...If you love it, more power to you. What brand do you buy? Fat-free is made with skim-milk. Did you know that parmesan/romano cheese are naturally low-fat, so don't completely knock the low-fat world. Only 1.5-2 g. of total fat in parmesan. :D

Kraft Fat Free American Singles. This cheese is LOADED with really awful ingredients - to be honest, the amount of fat in regular non-processed cheese (made only from milk and enzymes) is better for you than this non-fat version that has all these chemicals in it. I classify this as "junk food" - your liver has to filter all that crap out of your body, making it harder to metabolize other fats you eat. If you look at it from this perspective, eating fat-free junk foods can cause you to store more fat and can result in higher cholesterol than eating full-fat foods. This is really true.

I love it, as I said I am going to start back concentrated on fat free and low fat, just like the low carb folks are concentrating on their carbs, I will to , but more on my calorie intake and fat free consumptions.
