well on wednesday the 21st.. i noticed a slight swelling and irration in my right eye. on thursday i had a small stye on my lower right eye lid. then later that evening a bigger one on my upper right eye lid. i used eye wash and hot compresses. friday morning my eye was pretty much shut closed, later on i was able to open it, following with eye washes and heat, the big one went away by night. saturday.. my eyelid was slightly swollen but almost normal and the first little sty is still there but it doesnt look bad. saturday night, i got another sty on my upper lid, in a different spot than the last. thats now 3 styes total....

ive never had a sty in my entire life until now and im 20 years old. i really dont know what would cause this, only thing i can think of is the on tuesday night before it started, i went to the gym, and later that night i was rubbing my eye a lot. also there has been a fire that has caused a lot of air pollution

ive read a person may only get 1 or 2 styes in a lifetime, why is it that im getting so many in such a small period.

another thing.. about 3 weeks ago, i think i scratched the inside of the same eyelid or got an eyelash stuck in there, not sure... but it hurt for about a week.

Hi; I have many styes over my lifetime, (about 6, Iam 67 years old now) I just got another one this past week, I have not had one in over 10 years.

What I was told in the past was, don't put your dirty fingers in your eye, wash every night with a anti-bact soap. The only thing I can think of as to what caused this one is, that my cat gave me a good brush with his tail in my eye.

I have been using a hot compress on it to try and bring it to a head. I have found if you can't get it to drain the puss out, the swelling will go down but you will end up with a hard lump on the lid that will not go away

Also when it starts to drain, I put eye drops in that are for killing the bact- that is coming out of the drain hole, all the other ones always drained to the inside of the lid.

Jim is absolutely right. These things just happen to some. Buy a hot/cold microwave
gel pack & drop it in a thick wet sock to steam 20 min. 4 X day atleast. Ea. day needs
a fresh clean sock or cloth. Bacteria is stubborn & will stay on cloth & go back to infect eye. May be reason U R getting more. CLEAN/Sterile is the key. In some cases
they WILL harden & need to be excised by Opthalmologist. Wash hands constantly.
Yes it is so contagious, U probably did get it off gym equip. & touched eye. Other
people that touch your hand towel can get it too. Get color-coded fresh towels &
wash cloth to avoid spread. If attempts fail & still have signs after 2 wks, go to Opthal. & get script. Infection can tear back to eye & eyesight can become permanently affected. Infection may be trapped in tissue lining. Heat/Clean usually
will cure it though. Was or disenfect faucet handle U just touched also.
