Hello,

I'm starting my first cycle of Clomid tomorrow and I've been busy reading the boards looking for people who have had a similar experience to me. I'm 33 and DH and I have been trying for the last two year to become pg. We've had to early mc's and took this summer off to have testing done. Everything is ok except for my biopsy and the doctor diagnosed a luteal phase defect. She has prescribed clomid and then u/s to see when the follicles are ready and then an hcg shot. Is there anyone out there in a similar situation?

thanks,
amy

I have a LPD too. But i'm gonna talk to my gyn next week. So far I've been taking 80 mg of vitamin B6 and read that the natural progesterone cream makes the luteal phase longer. I haven't had a biopcy, i'm gonna see my gyn next week so I might need a biopcy.
I've been taking my temps and that's how i found out that i had LPD. My LP is less than 10 days. Using Clomid is one of the ways of fixing LPD, it works for many women. I read that Vitex is good too. Just follow your doctor's instructions.

wishing you a BFP

I read that generally, research shows that if the drug doesn't work in four to six cycles, it isn't likely to work at all. However, if you take a break and start over, perhaps with the addition of HCG then you may elect to start the four to six cycles over again.
