I have a large lump that is somewhat hard and stable right at the lower part of my back rib cage. It is getting larger and beginning to hurt when i try to lie on that side. The pain goes from that area to inside my stomach. I had an MRI without contrast and was told there was nothing there, even though the doctor and the MRI technition had no problem locating it. What should I do to put my mind at rest, it doesn't scare me that it is there, it scares me not to know what it is.

Hi Mary!

Just read your post. I to have a lump under my right rib cage. It started out at 5 cm x 2 cm, and has got bigger. I go back to the doctors on Tuesday, because now I have sharp pains on the right side (stomach area) and a fullness feeling on right side also. My first visit to the doctors they did an xray and found NOTHING? Even though you can feel the lump and it is hard not soft. They told me it is probalbly a lipoma. I see your post is from August. Have you found out anything new? Thanks Natalie
