I lifted some heavy boxes over three months ago and since then, have been having aching in the groin area radiating to the back or vice versa. The pain goes up the middle of my back. I wake up stiff in the mornings and whenever I am sitting the same thing happens, stiff. Upon sitting, I feel like it could be sciatic but it doesn't hurt like that. I've had sciatic many years ago. I had hip and pelvic xrays which were negative. Any idea what I should do? I ruled out gyn. I am in such discomfort I don't know what to do or where to go. I do need help as this is making me severly depressed. Thanks. p.s. I have bad foot problems which I am having treated. Metartasal drop on both foot.

Hi there!
What kind of doc are you seeing? When did doc order xrays? What further tx have they suggested? You probably need to get an MRI. That would be the next logical step.
Let us know what you decide! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Good luck! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/love1.gif

I've been to my internist, the ortho doc who ordered the xrays, but he didn't suggest anything else. He just gave me a prescription for vioxx. I saw my gyn just to rule out any problems there and everything was ok. He said he could order a sono of the pelvis but he didn't think it was necessary. He didn't feel anything on exam. I went to my foot doctor as I know when the feet are bad, it can affect your back etc. I am having footbeds made to help with the feet and I am having some physical therapy on my feet and legs. That doesn't seem to be helping anything. I plan on going back to my internist to address this problem. Thanks.

Hi Pain!
You're welcome. I hope they look into an MRI for you. Just seems like that would help w/ dx. Keep in mind that a bad disc i.e. tear or compression, can present itself in odd places other than your back. I have tingling and some of it Very uncomfortable in my toes, in the instep, sometimes deep in buttock, mostly in rt hip and lumbar. I don't doubt for a minute it's my discs.
Hope you get some answers. It's good that you ruled out the gyn thing. That seems to be the rule of thumb w/ back issues. Process of elimination. It can get aggravating...but, better to know! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Good luck! Let me know!
