 I've been given a recommendation to start my six year old son on heavy prednizone treatments to extend his mobility by as much as one to three years. The treatments do not change mortality time line but does offer additional strength between 10 and 14 years of age. Does anyone have experience with this? What are some of your thoughts?

Hi Dystrophy Dad,
Does your son have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. My son is 7 and has it. He has been on Prednisone for almost 2 years and it does seem to help him with strength. He is on the weekend dose system and really has not suffer side effects at his current dose of 125mg on Fridays and Saturdays. I would say it would at least be worth the try.
