My daughter woke up from her nap yesterday with small, red dots (very slightly raised) all over behind her ears, back and side of neck, and along her jaw. She was up from 3 am- 6am fussing (she never wakes up at night) and her eyes were puffy and she was either rubing or itching behind her ears or her ears.
She still has the dots today, but not as fussy. She had strawberries yesterday (a lot) could that be it? I don't remember her having them before, that's all I could think of. Or the bumps are just an irritation from blankets or clothing??
Thanks!

Yes, strawberries have been known to trigger an allergic reaction (urticaria/hives) in some people. This doesn't mean that your daughter will always be allergic; however introducing them to her system at this age may be too soon. This reaction may be a result of the fruit itself or of the chemicals used to spray the fruit against insects.

If you havent changed anything with her blankets(soap, softener) I would say that it is the strawberrys. If she is still reacting today I would call her doc and tell them about it, she may need some antihistamine to help her get over the reaction. I wouldnt give her strawberrys any more till she alittle older, or make sure you have benadryl in the house just in case.
