hi :wave: ....can any one else tell me any thing about a blister on the white of your eye?
I would like to know all the info i can get on this ..
i would like to know what your DR's has told you about this ..

Try searching for pinguecula on google and see if thats helps. This is a begnin condition without any known cause as far as I know.

GJP is right. I have one and that is what the doctor had told me. It doesn't go away, they could be any size at all.

mine has been very irritated this week i have been using Artificial tears ..
GJP sent me to a very good site and i learned a lots from there ..

Just wanted to post that if you get a new blister in your eye that hurts pretty bad it may be something different: a cold sore. I get occasional cold sores along my lip, but one day I got one on my eye lid. My doc said that the same nerve where the cold sore virus lives is next to the eye so sometimes instead of going down to the mouth, it goes to the eye. These blisters are very serious and need to be treated, but my doc said that a person would know it was serious because they hurt so much.

(Just wanted to post in case someone read this thread and though that all blisters in the eye did not need immediate treatment), although I'm glad it sounds like for you guys, it's not really a problem.

Yeah as far as I know if you get a cold sore of the eye it will be quite painful and red.

A few days ago I noticed that I had a blister on the white of my eye and was a bit worried about what it was. The only information I could find on the net searching "blisters and eyes" was of herpes of the eye (which had me even more worried). It literally took me hours of random searching to find this word "pinguecula". The images on yahoo looked just like mine. My mind was eased to "know " thats what it was.... but the next day it was gone! Evidently mine was caused by something different and it seemed to have bursted over night. Oh well, I hope it wasn't a sign of something more serious to come...

the DR first told me when i went to him for the first time for this ..he told me to use artifical tears..ok so i did..
well it got worse and then it started to bother me ..my eye got real red ..and yes the blister seem to be raised on my eye even bigger..oh yeah it really bothered me ..but still didn't hurt..well the artifical tears i was useing didn't seem to help..my eye still seemed to be getting worse ..so i got genteal lubicant eye drops ..still my eye wasn't getting better ..it was really bugging me still not hurting ..but still very red ..and the blister was getting bigger ..( the sun started to really bother it ..but my eye still not hurting )
so I called MY DR back ..told him I wanted him to call me something in that the artifical tears..and genteal lubicant ..was not working at all ...that the blister was getting bigger and it was very red by now ..it was from the nose to the color of my eye...
so he told me to get Naphcon-A drops ..you can get this over the counter...and try that if that didn't help to come see him again..

well I did i got... Naphcon-A ..drops ..and i would close my eye and softly rub the blister and I tell ya'll i started to using it ..in the first day my eye felt better ..the redness started to get pink looking ..in a few days the redness was gone ..and the blister started to looking better it seemed to be getting smaller by now ..I used the drops (Naphcon-A ) 4 times a day and each time i would softly rub my eye ..
now the blister is just about gone...no redness and is not pink any more ..the white of my eye is just about back to normal and the sun don't bother it any more ,,
there is just a tiny spot now where the blister was ( i would say it is still the blister )but very very small..it's not raised on my eye any more ..the small spot is flat ..I wanted to share this with ya'll...
GJP was so much help to me and the site GJP told me to go to ...
and to thank all of you again....ask your DR about these Drps if you have this ..
