Hi all,
Do not know if this is the right area to post, but here goes. I'm just getting over mono, and have just had a CT Scan to rule out lymphoma, (initially that is what the Dr.'s thought I had, swollen lymph nodes, night sweats, etc.). Now, the Dr.'s say I do not have lymphoma, but the CT scan came back where they found a "spot" on my spleen and a swollen lymph node which is 1.5cm in my chest. The Hematologist wants to do an ultrasound of these areas, especially the spleen, she is a little concerned about this "spot" on my spleen. Do any of you have any ideas as to what this "spot" could be? The Dr. is not to concerned about the swollen lymph node in my neck as it is relatively small. Also, I had a swollen node removed from my neck, it was very large at 5 cm and it came back where it was caused from Mono and the Epstein Barr Virus. I am a female and 35years old, and this is the first time in my life with having mono. I just do not know what the heck to think. Apparently CT Scans should be able to tell you if a spot is malignant or not, so why would I be sent for ultrasounds? Isn't this backtracking? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

P.S. the original lymph node that was removed and biopsied was negative for malignancies, but showed EBVirus throughout the node.
