Just thought you'd be interested in knowing that the August issue of Glamour has the story of a woman who had surgery for Epilepsy. I bought a copy, and it is a very good article. Phoebe

Hi Phoebe! Thanks for the info, I'll grab it at the store tomorrow! I took Katie to the jeweler to pick out a ring today. She chose the ring from a book and the stones will be set. 2 rubies flanking a diamond (past, present, future). It is going to be a lovely ring for her to remember and celebrate this point in her life. I can't wait to see it!
Also, spoke with our Epi's NP today about a couple of questions Katie had and to get her med blood levels. I told her that Katie just finished her first menstrual cycle (post surgery) and she had NO AURAS or seizure activity before or after the cycle. This was usually Katie's time to fire off "more"... the week leading up and a few days following. She also has not had peanuts since the week before her surgery. (which she got her period the day before surgery...what timing that was!) So she was only a week or so late for the first period post surgery. The NP was VERY excited about no activity. So, we'll see.
EEG set for September 24th at 9:30 am. Meeting with Epi set for October. They have 2 dates set aside, but won't know which until next week.
Every day without a seizure is a true blessing...thank you for your reply to Katie, I will have her read it tomorrow. We were busy finishing putting mulch around the yard today, preparing for Katie's party on the 8th.
Thank you again for everything...and the poem is very appropriate.
