View Full Version : Contacts keep tearing

I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I have been wearing various brands of contact lenses for the past 15 years and have never experienced the kind of problems I am having now.

I am wearing "Focus Dailies" Toric Lenses by Ciba, and I am having tremendous problems with them tearing/splitting. Now some of them are even torn IN the packaging! Sometimes they tear within minutes of having them in and trying to get a torn segment of lense out of your eye when it has floated up underneath your eyelid is not funny!

I contacted my Optician about this and she said it must be a bad batch and sent me some more. They are doing the same thing (and yes, they are a different batch number and everything). Now is it just me who is having these problems, or am I not alone?

I cannot believe how much bad luck I have had with these. It's not like I am a newbie to wearing lenses, I KNOW they are fragile and I am careful with them. I have only ever ONCE had a lense tear before and that was because it was really old and due for renewal.

Please can someone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance.

Yours with red eyes and Optrex shares.

Queenie
