last nite some old friends came back into town and amongst their talking of a past ex of mine we are both friends with, they ask me if its true he has warts on his penis. my ex was VERY VERY promiscuous, little did i know that at the time. i haven't had any sex with him since last october. i am now with someone new.
i have been seen by my general physician several times for just regular yeast problems but would have her check for anything else because he scared me so bad. i have also been to the gyno once but didn't get a full std test when i was there, even though i should have.
i'm sure my ex has slept with a million more people since we've gone our seperate ways and could have that now, and after we split. but he makes me SO paranoid about things. i really put myself at risk and didn't even have a clue at the time.
should i go back to the gyno asking for a full screen because an old friend warned me about my ex? even though theyve seen nothing so far. i don't know what warts or hpv or anything of that actually looks like. he just really scares me.

HPV is one of those diseases that can lay dormant for years and it is something that STD screens will not generally detect - unless you have visible warts present. This is why we always recommend condoms - even when you are sure the other guy is faithful (because they often aren't). All I can suggest is for you to stay calm and continue to have yearly health exams. Stressing out over this will not make any difference. Oh, and use condoms.
