Hi its me again.. after the soerm count came back good with 90 million sperm and stuff they put me on Medroxyprogestrone(I think it is generic), To bring on my AF. Then on my fourth day after i get it I will start a generic brand of Clomid (Clomiphene 100mg). I was wondering if it will not work as good or does it work just as good as the real thing!? And did it work for others on there first time trying it! And did anyone have multiple kids using it that yous know of? Its so exciting... I hope I don't give up if it doesn't work the first time...Oh yeahand when is it that we are suppose to actually try and ummm u know?

My first dose (month) of Clomid was only 50mm, with IUI (intrauterine insemination). I did not get pregnant. My second dose was 100mg, also with IUI and I am currently pregnant from this, but the pregnancy might be ectopic. I'm only 5.5 wks so I'm waiting to find out.

If you're not producing enough progesterone to grow mature follicles, the Clomid should do the trick...providing your body responds well. I had great results fromt he use of Clomid, as I produced a ton of progesterone as a result.

Of course, with any infertility drug, the chances of multiples go up, but Clomid is a very mild drug and you're much less likely to get multiples than if you were to have stronger, injectible fertility drugs.

Good Luck you!!! :)

Hi,

I took only one cycle of Clomid (50mg) and got pg on the first cycle. I ovulated right on day 14 when I took it which is unheard of for me - I rarely ovulated much less right on day 14. I think if you look at the ovulation sticks directions, it even tells you when to begin testing if you are taking Clomid. Also, I think I took the generic version of it as well and it worked just fine! My doc said the risk of multiples increases to around 8-10% but the vast majority of those are twins rather than triplets+...I did have an ultrasound at week 7 to confirm there was only one baby and there is. Am 12 weeks now and everything is going great!
Don't give up hope if it doesn't work on the first try, they say most people will conceive within 6 months of being on it if ovulation is your problem in the first place.

Good luck!

Hey thanx for the replies. Today I started my first dose of Clomid 100mg. And am hoping for the best it has been pretty stressful lately. Finding out some of what this cost is going to look like. But I will be happy about paying those medical bills if I have a baby. Every time I talk about it I just feel like crying. But I think I'm over that now, I know that stress can cause problems or make it harder. I was wondering why they started me with 100mg. when it sounds like a lot of women get started off with just 50mg at first.??. Well thanx again for the replies!!!
