I have been told that having ovarin cysts will cause infertility, is this true? I'm so freaked out i have been trying to get pregnant for the last 7-8 months..with nothing.....i'm starting to get scared. I hope the cysts dont cause me not to become pregnant.... when i was told i had them he told me its not uncommon to have some and that mine werent very big..but big enough to cause a little pain and disconfront........i know i'm still young.. but i go to bed crying cause... i feel i'm failing myself.. and my faincee cause i'm having no luck getting pregnant.

crazygirl~ Don't feel as though you are failing yourself or your fiance. It is difficult, I know - as my dh and I have been ttc for almost 2 years with no luck. You have to keep your spirits up and stay positive. I know this is difficult. I know that personally. I do not know much about cysts, although you should listen to your doctor. Have you spoken to your doc about your concerns? Crazygirl, you have to be as positive as possible through this.... having an undestanding dh or fiance is a wonderful support -- as is this bulletin board. Talk to your fiance about your fears and speak with your doc to see what he/she thinks about your situation.
I don't know that I have helped at all... but I wanted to let you know -- YOU ARE NOT ALONE out there!!!
Good luck to you - - Stay Optimistic! Smiles & Hugs.....

I have a friend who has had an ovarian cyst since she was 23. 12 years ago she got married and got pregnant, then she got pregnant second time. She got 2 boys easily. 2 weeks ago she got her 3rd baby boy, without any problems, naturally.
She still has an ovarian cyst and never got rid of it.
Sometimes it might be a reason , sometimes it might not.
Infertility is not a common result of ovarian cysts. However, in rare cases large cysts may affect the function of the ovaries. A condition called polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is associated with infertility. You don't have PCOS, you just have an ovarian cyst. By the way 2 years ago I had a tubal pregnancy and cyst, i had an ovarian cyst and got pregnant but unfortunately it wasn't normal one, it was ectopic pregnancy. So you can get pregnant even when having ovarian cysts unless it's not too large. You can have laparascopy and have it removed if it causes some problems. But i know that if it's not big then there is no problem to achieve pregnancy.
Good luck
hope I cheered you up

Try to do some research online or read the books about what your doctor tells you. Internet is full of useful information, it's a great source of information. Don't get panicky right away. If you read about ovarian cysct online you will see that it's not a common reason for infertility, women get successfully pregnant when having cyst unless it's too big, and even if it's too big and needs to be removed, you still can get pregnant.
