Many of you may find this quite interesting. I know I did.

It's ASTOUNDING that each and every one of these "orthomolecular" drugs is available in a health food store (maybe thats the meaning of orthomolecular)...such a COINCIDENCE. ;)
<Owww, I think I may have just perforated my cheek with my tongue!>:D

I guess you know what I think of the Gary Null School of Medicine.

Astounding? What's so astounding about it? After all, vitamins B-6, B-12, and folic acid work together to effectively reduce elevated homocysteine, another risk factor, and they're all available at health food stores too. Do you also find it astounding that virtually everything mainstream medicine prescribes is found in drug stores? Where is it written that the answer to all of our health related problems must be in the form of a drug?

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all argument, and cannot fail to keep man in everlasting ignorance. That principle is condemnation without investigation." --Herbert Spencer

Yep, vitamins are necessary to prevent vitamin deficiencies, minerals are necessary to prevent MINERAL DEFICIENCIES...these are TRUISMS!

But what I find ASTOUNDING is that those that peddle the Health Food Drugs claim they can cure EVERYTHING...just like Lydia Pinkham's pills sold from covered wagons.

A mark of a quack is that if he can sell only a limited things than THESE things become the "miraculaous cure"...

Slightly akin to the "If your only tool is a hammer, the entire world becomes A NAIL."

The converse is that if a PhD type "doctor" can't legally write a prescription, then prescription drugs become poisonous anathema.

The world hasn't come very far from the peddler who sells the cream that can "grow hair on a bowling ball!" They just write books now instead of hitching up Bossie and taking the stagecoach on a sales trip.

Herbert Spencer's obvious converse must obviously be: "But far more likely a cause of dangerous ignorance is ACCEPTANCE without investigation."

Freedom of the Press means that any preposterous poppycock can be espoused in print (and radio) and then be repeated endlessly on the ever-repetitive internet: Like "Vitamin C cures cancer(Pauling) and penicillin cures AIDS (Dr. Stephen Caizza...he died of AIDS)
(I've listened to RATH babble at LEAST 5 times.)

The old saw, "Don't believe everything you read," has NEVER been more apt.

To outright ignore such a plausible theory as this, without so much as conducting any large scale independent studies is absolutely insane. They've had 15 years to test this theory, but instead they simply choose to ignore it. Why? What are they afraid of, the possibility that there may actually be something to this? Not only is condemnation without investigation just plain stupid, but it may also potentially be doing a great disservice to the public as well.

You mentioned "acceptance without investigation." The drug companies are masters at that, among other criminal improprieties. Defrauding medicare and medicaid, illegal price fixing, making FALSE and MISLEADING CLAIMS regarding their products, as well as minimizing the risks and dangers associated with their use.

Anyone bent on examining all the quack cures that I've heard over the last 30 years (mostly on Natural Living [from which I am almost recovered:D]) would need FAR MORE than the combined assets of Messrs. Gates, Buffet, Jobs, Bush and the King of Saudi Arabia.

An example: Zip Press's new release written by Dr.Zippy Zip, Ph.D.: CURARE CURES ALTZHEIMER'S, an insightful look into his new therapy: daily shots of curare combined with Vitamin K, Hawthorne tea, persimmon enemas, and homeopathic doses of arnica...administered FAITHFULLY for 10 years, Alzheimer's is CURED.

Now would this author, Zip (sheer coincidence;),) be on solid ground by whining for 20 years with the tune "Nobody TESTED my superb and PUBLISHED "cure?"

Speaking of quacks, the pharmaceutical industry is the biggest quack of all.
