View Full Version : Question on Chlor-Trimeton

I have been taking Chlor-Trimeton now for about a year. I first found out about the greatness of Chlor from this message board -- thanks to Cut-throat!

Anyway, I like to take the 12 hour pill first thing in the morning, and not have to worry about taking it the rest of the day. However, it has been very difficult to find in the drugstores lately. All Walg, CVS, etc. will carry are the 4 hour variety. So I am trying to find a place online that sells the 12 hour, but have had no success. Has anyone been fortunate enough to find some place that sells it online? Also, has anyone ever taken 3 4 hour pills all at once, in the morning? I wasn't quite sure if the 12 hour had a delayed release or something, and if it did, it wouldn't be like taking three 4 hour pills at the same time. Anyone have any experience with this? Many thanks!

Hello,

Glad it's working fro you!

Here is what you should do. Get a prescription from your doctor for the generic version of Chloro-trimeton. Take it to your drugstore and they will fill it. The 12 mg. Pills are easy to get this way. The best thing however is that it will only cost you about 5 cents a pill. YOu must be paying about 50 cents a pill now.

As a side note the Chloro-trimeton worked great for me for 5 years. Last month it stopped being as effective as before. This happens sometimes with antihistimines. It still gives me about 20% relief. I am going to see an allergist that specializes in difficult cases like mine in a about a month or so.

I get the rite-aid brand 4mg stuff, and it's only 5-6 cents per pill. No prescription required. :D

(which is extra good because I don't have insurance, only work part time because I am still in school, and haven't seen a doctor - except at planned parenthood to get my birth control - in 8-9 years...)
