I really need some advice on this situation. Please let me know if anybody knows what this might be. I have never had an STD before, and I get tested regularly. On friday night I had sex with a friend of mine who I have known for a while. We used a condom, but it broke. The next day I noticed several clusters of red bumps right at the top of my pubic hairline. Today (sunday) the bumps have all formed white tops and look like pimples. They are very sensitive and hurt when touched. My friend swears to me that she has never had any STD and was tested for everything at the OB/GYN three months ago. She is in a intermittent relationship with a guy she lives with and he is the only person she has slept with in the last two years. She says he is disease free as well. I spent all day today researching STD's and it doesn't seem that symptoms can appear so quickly (overnight) for any of them. My friend thinks that the pimples appeared because she usually shaves her pubic area but had let it grow for a few days and the hair was very coarse. She thinks the friction is what caused this because we had sex for an extended period of time (about 90 minutes). Please give me your input before I worry myself to death.

It doesn't sound like any sort of STD. If you've researched diseases like herpes, warts, etc, you probably already know that the presenting symptoms don't look or act like a regular pimple that gets a head and then breaks. I think you have... pimples :) Your friend is probably on the right track in regards to friction and maybe sweat and oils causing them. It is also true that skin lesions would not typically appear the next day for most STDs.

No one here can diagnose you, of course, but I think you can relax :)

Well if they are just pimples (which I really hope), what can I do to treat them? The area that they occupy really hurts and itches. Is there anyway to get rid of them quickly?

They itch? You didn't mention that. Pimples don't itch. Maybe you have pubic lice?

Sorry, I didn't specify well enough. The itching is not a major issue at all. They don't itch all the time, just every once in a while. However, they are very sensitive. I am pretty sure it is not pubic lice because the symptoms don't match. The odd thing is that each pimple has a single hair growing out of it. That is what leads me to believe it has something to do with the hair follicles. What can I do for these pimples?

Ah, ok, how about folliculitis, then? Folliculitis is the name given to a group of skin conditions in which there are inflamed hair follicles. The result is a tender red spot, often with a surface pustule. Sounds like what you have, doesn't it? If you look it up on the Web you can see pictures and compare.

Hydrocortisone may help the itching and an topical antibiotic ointment should help the healing - given this is due to irritation from her shaving. I agree that herpes or other STDs would not show up the next day.

Next time, though, if the going gets a little dry, break out some lube. Also, if the sex lasts more than half an hour, it might be wise to change condoms.

Thank you guys so much for your advice. I really appreciate it. I went by the clinic today and they said it does look like Folliculitis, but I have to go back tomorrow when the doctor is there to get an official diagnosis.

If they are pimples or even ingrown hairs put a really hot wash cloth on them, and it may be gross, but then you can pop them. or if you just leave them alone they will go away in a few days

you can use regular astringent to get rid of them. it sounds like you have ingrown hairs or something of that nature, perhaps during sex your oil glands created a build up in your hair follicles causing those bumps.

This could be one of two things....it could be from the reaction to the latex, possible alergic...or it could be simply friction bumps///I have gotten really small red bumps right at the pubic line before after having sex for long periods of time with a condom on.

Please forgive me if this has already been posted, I didn't read any of the responses.

Think about it dude. You had sex for 90 minutes you said. There was alot of friction, heat, and perspiration goin' on. Aaaaaand....you said these bumps appeared the very next day, I think you're safe. And if, lets say you do end up with some STD, I bet that it wasn't your friend that gave it to you. But honestly, I really believe that this is just skin irritation, and that you'll be fine. This happened last week right? How is it now? Don't worry yourself to death ok? :nono: I bet it's better by now anyway, right? :)
