My sister's 6 year old daughter has severe asthma. She has been in and out of the hosptial numerous times and is on several medications (including steroids). Recently, they were out here for a visit (we live in different states) and my niece didn't have ANY attacks. My sister has started considering relocating. She's not completly sure she wants to move to the state I live in, but is doing some research on relocating in general. Does anyone have any information they could share? Thanks!

Another possibility is that she's allergic to something that could easily eliminated in her home. Are there cats in their house? Mold? Those are probably two of the biggest triggers for asthmatics. It sounds like she could be very allergic to something in or around her home. Suggest to your sister that her daughter get tested for allergies and possibly consider immunotherapy (allergy shots).
