Hi :)

Well, the title of this post says it all !

As far as I can understand this could be caused by the fact that I stay seated a lot of time due to computer work. I'm a clean person, so this is the only reason I can think about.

Can there be other reasons?
part from sport/activities, what else could I do to get rid of that? (it started 6 months ago ! and I'm ashamed to show my butt to a doctor :D )

Thanks for the help

Hi,

It's probably a fungal (thrush/yeast) infection/jock itch..etc. There are products you can use in that area...consult your pharmacist.

You could also add acidophilus capsules to your diet. Acidophilus helps keep the flora in the digestive system balanced. It's also recommended for people who have chronic yeast infections.

Are you using a highly fragranced soap? Are you having many bm's daily and wiping? Sometimes it could be the residue from toilet paper that puts the area in an irritated state setting it up for inflammation.

Another thing you can try after you've cleansed in your shower or bath (better to shower than bath anyway if that's a problem) is use a quarter cup of vinegar with the rest filled with warm water. With your hand (or put it in a squirt bottle) apply it over the affected area. It might sting for a second....but it will balance the ph level of the area. Then rinse with clear water.

If you're female, I'm not talking about a douche.....but you can apply it liberally on the anus as well as between the folds of the labia and just into the vagina....rinse.

If it continues....definitely see a doctor.

Hope it improves!

Just a thought on this subject, do you drink a lot of coffee or caffinated beverages? I know someone who gets an itchy anus from too much coffee.

Hi Donna :)

Thanks for your advice. I never drink coffee, though :D
Actually, it's starting to get better although I didn't start any treatment yet.
The fact that I haven't met my girlfriend for almost two weeks, makes me think that she might be somewhat involved. Well, I don't know

Have a nice day

Could be...has she been checked by a doctor? If not, insist on it so that she can be treated, as well as you should so that you don't keep playing ping-pong.
