I am so new to all of this....my question: When I read the statistics the outlook for MS patients doesn't sound good. I read that even if a person has RR MS that within 10 years 50% get the more progressive type. But, are these statistics from 10 years ago. Afterall, with the Interferons, shouldn't more folks be able to stay at RR for a longer period of time?
I am at the grasping at straws stage.
I know of several people throughout my life that have had MS for at least twenty years (before treatment was available), of 5 I think only 1 had it bad enough to seriously change her life. So I was surprised to see the 50% statistic.
Waht do ya'll think?
