I have rhinitis and chronic sore throat for 5-6 years, my symptoms are
nose dry and stuff up, but not like general allergy, I have no a lot of mucus.
Symptom of sore throat is sore and dry cough because I always have
some very sticky mucus.
I have visited several ENT doctors and they had me try several medicines and nasal spray, ( Flonase and Rhincort) I don't know why they didn't concern about my nose is already pretty dry and Flonase made it become more dry. But when I talked to them that Flonase or Rhincort couldn’t help me, It is looks like they have no another nasal spray can give to me and just asked me to use salt woter. Besides, my left side ear starts ringing from Feb 2003; the symptom is like chirping of crickets.
I believe my rhinitis is kind of special, so I hope any one can reply to me if you have any idea, thanks!.

I would recommend the following...
1. Start taking Mucinix, which is an expectorant. It will loosen mucus and thin it out.
2. Get yourself a irrigation machine (I use the Grossan Hydropulse) and fill the resevoir with the following
a) 400 ml of room temperature water
b) 20ml of Alkalol (you can order this online, or from Walgreens, etc.)
c) A Tbs of kosher salt
d) A tbs of baking soda.
Irrigate once a day in the morning, or twice if you need to.
3. Stay away from antihistamines. They make mucus thicker.
