Can you think back to before you had pain. When you could jump on a bycycle and ride without thinking, ok, did I bring enough pain meds?
How have you been doing? I have Mono and am working from home this week.
Write me if you have the time!
Hugs!

Hey there.
I always think about you. I hope you are getting some rest. I hope your kids are well.
I have been keeping busy. I had felt pretty good for a couple days, so I took my kids out to do as much as we could. Today I am not feeling so hot, but that's the price we pay for our children's happiness. "I'll have fun today and pay dearly tommorrow"
Thursday will be my last day at the Chiro, at least for a while. I was going to him for adjustments, drainage/cleansing with homeopathic drops, and JMT(bioenergetics)...I am choosing to stop treatment for a while and see if I can deal with the pain on my own. I have been contemplating whether or not to go on DMARD's or Enbrel, but until I have the $$ and proper insurance, I am going to try to fight it on my own somehow. I have a couple Dr appt's in the next couple weeks with my Dermatologist and a new Rheumatologist, so I will see what they have to say, but it seems like all my Dr.'s suggest the same types of treatment.
With school starting back up for my kids, I want to free up a lot of my time and get into a good routine so that I am a sane mother for the school year. I have been a stay -at -home mom with my youngest for the past few years, and I was taking care of another child in my home 'til earlier this year, but now her gymnastics place offers a mom's day out 2x a week, so I am going to get her in that if I can. I was hoping to feel good enough to start working again, but I just don't know. I don't know how you do it.
It's funny that you mentioned remembering what it was like to just get up and go ride a bike with no problems. I was just thinking the other day what I would do if I had no pain. The first physical thing I would do is go running, and I was envisioning myself doing a running round-off then a back handspring and a back flip. I was in gymnastics when I was younger and my kids have been in gymnastics, and I watch those kids on the bars and say to myself.. gosh, I would love to be able to do that just one more time.
At the gym, I am able to ride the stationary bike for a while without hurting too bad, so at least I can do some form of exercise.
I definitely don't take things for granted anymore. I am always thankful I can see, hear, taste and smell.
As much as I want to feel sorry for myself at times and it just blows my mind that this could happen to me, my lifestyle and my immediate family just don't give me the chance to let this disease get the best of me. I still do everything I can without help- Yardwork, shopping, running errands, household chores, taking care of the girls and the dog. Even though I need the help, I just don't want to be a burden on my family and since my parents, sibling, and friends all live in other states, it isn't really an option.
I still have a thought in the back of my mind that this is only due to 5th's disease and it will all go away one day. I am not in denial, but I still have been holding on to that thought... I guess it has made the year go by a little easier for me(having hope). I want to be proactive in my treatments, but I can't believe drugs are the only ultimate solution.
Listening to what you and everyone else has to say, educating myself, and trying to stay positive- That is what I am going to do for myself right now.
Thanks for caring.
Let me know what is going on with you.
Take care!

Stacy,
Im not sure If I told you this before, I fould out I have Mono about a week ago. I took off work for the entire week last week and worked from home between naps.
My pain is a little bit better after seeing the PT for two weeks.
Ive been walking in the pool, no walking on treadmill or no running. It's sooooooooooooo much fun w/ the kids in the pool w/ me. THEY give me a good workout. Especially the 3 yr old who wants me to catch her everytime she jumps in the pool.
How is your health? I stopped taking Bextra and celebrex, no help.
Please let me know how you are doing k?
Sincerely,
Sara

Is the re-occuring mono the reason for your FMS and back and body pain, or is that just on top of everything else? I am so sorry. I have never had mono, at least that I was aware of, but I can vouch for chronic fatigue.. Is that similar?
I am happy you can get to the pool with the kids. I try to get to the pool with my kids and it does feel good to be able to move around a little easier in the pool. My hands and wrists are bad, so I have trouble catching my kids, but I still manage. I am hoping to get to the pool a couple more times before school starts, but I think rain is in the forecast.
I had a couple OK days and then a couple not so hot days, but today I am starting to get back on track with taking all my vitamins and supplements. I am going to try to get by on those first before I give in to other meds.
One day at a time!!
I will talk with you later..
Take care!

Hi Stacy!
My doc said the mono could be causing all the Fibromyalgia symtoms- and she would test me again in 6 weeks for the Fibro. So yes, it is JUST like chronic fatigue syndrome.
Im sorry your hands and wrists hurt so bad. The pool helps my back tremendously.
School starts here on Monday of next week. My days of sleeping til 7:30 are OVER! Thats what time my daughter has to actually be at school. Im trying to get as much rest as possible before Monday. I will have to get up at 5:30 every morn.
Hey, what vitamins are you taking? I want to start on some b/cuz my doctor said the only things that clear up Mono are Rest, Vita C, and Echenacha.
Back to work,
Have a great day!

Hi Sara,
I really hope that you find something that will clear up the mono. In the past, how did you get rid of it, or did you? .... Wouldn't that be great if all your symptoms went away once the mono is out of your system? As for your back pain, that's a separate issue, right? Well, at least the pool gives you some relief.
I take a multi vitamin/mineral, probiotics(Kyo-Acidophilus) as well as eating yogurt and cottage cheese when I can, Flaxseed oil(usually about 2 big TBSP's in a smoothie), grapeseed extract, Cat's Claw, and I have Black Current Seed supplements, I think they are similar to Evening Primrose Oil, but I haven't been taking them yet. All this is supposed to help with the arthritis, fatigue and my skin. I find it very hard to remember to take down all the supplements a few times per day. I guess I have to get a pill box! I had been taking a homeopathic Antitox/Liver cleanse, which were drops, and that was what my Chiropractor had given me to rid the toxins he thought were built up in my system which supposedly causes the inflammation.
I haven't taken all of it on a regular basis, and I also haven't noticed a huge change in how I feel, so I hope that by getting on a better regimine, I will notice a difference in how I feel.
I will start to take more Vitamin C, as I hear more and more people saying it may help.
Anyway, take care of yourself, and hopefully we can stay in touch and keep each other posted.
I will be gone most of the week and then school starts for my daughter next week as well, so we will see how well I manage and if I am able to get on a good sleep schedule as well. I will be thinking of you and I will talk with you soon.
Take good care of yourself!!!
