I saw a post which implied that the Miracle-Ear was not a great hearing aid. My experience has been the opposite. I went to a local NJ hearing center and tried Oticon, Sieman's and finally, Phonak. Neither of those fit right, although they all helped my hearing. After a year of this, I took the Phonak, which lived in the repair shop as often as in my ear. Finally, I went to Sears, where they were having a 1/2 price sale and I ordered an ITC digital aid. WOW. That was the best aid ever. For the first time, i could be outside and the wind would blow and I didn't get any whistling. And I can hear great with it. Now, I need another one for my other ear and I plan to get it at Sears again.

Actually what I said was that Miricle Ear and Beltone aren't a good buy in terms of price. They advertise a lot, so need to raise prices on their aids to cover the cost of adverstising. They also aren't very good at advising what kind of hearing aid will work best. They usually advise the most expensive aid, instead of the aid that provides the most power and thus bang for your buck!
