View Full Version : Blood clot in finger?

I had an accident about 2 weeks ago that smashed my little finger on my right hand. It cut pretty deep, but the wound is now almost closed up. But in its place is a red bump on the middle joint of the finger. I'm just not sure what it is and if its going to go away. I haven't noticed any excruciating pain, but it hurts just a little if I touch it. I can bend the finger any way I want, but I'm still kind of worried. For some reason I have it in my head that it could be a blood clot. I thought that maybe the accident damaged a nerve or something which could cause the blood to clot. If anybody has any info on this I would really appreciate it. Also if anybody could tell me what the symptoms of a blood clot are, that would be good too. Thanks

The symptoms of a blood clot are usually possibly numbness (depending where it is...eg hand), brusing, itching and very hot to the touch.

However, if you think it could be a blood clot then the best thing to do is go to your doctor or casualty department and get yoursellf checked out just to be safe :)
