Hi everyone~ my name is Debbie. Listen, does anyone ever have this like thing in your throat, when you swallow, and you have to constantly clear it, in order to be able to swallow? And especially after eating any food, or a meal...it seems like after eating anything, it really gets going then. It is very annoying. I just started having this thing, recently. Is it just a matter of a dry throat, or is it allergy related? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Debbie,
I have the constant clearing of the throat thing, but I have allergies and mild asthma. I also have had problems with acid reflux in the past. All of these can cause the throat congestion. It is very annoying, I especially notice it in places like church where I am supposed to be quiet and then out of the stillness, there's me going " aaacccchlhemm" !!!!I have to do it several times a minute and its very embarrassing. I notice it more when I eat or drink something cold or if I eat ice cream or a milk product. You might have an allergy to some food. Ask your doctor!

I get it after milk products, and some wheat products. It is a pain to me and others around me. It is allergies I'm sure. You may want to go to your MD and get a check up and ask for allergy testing.

Yep I get it often after eating dairy and some fruits. It is embarissing but something I have just dealt with. I have not been tested for food allergies....yet! although I have diagnosed myself with Oral Allergy Syndrome.
