I was just married two weeks ago. My wife and I had been dating for 6 years and sexually active during that time. I know it's hard to believe but I can guarantee that she has been faithful to me and I have honestly been faithful to her. However, we have had unprotected sex this entire time. Recently, she began to have yellow/brown discharge from her vagina and abdominal pains. I looked up on the internet what this could be and chlamydia kept popping up. I know that prior to her, I was very sexually active and very well could have caught the bacteria before her. Is there any way though that it would have taken this long to show up on her? I guess I'm figuring it would have to be possible as we have both been faithful. I know I gave her HPV in 1998 that was not picked up until last year. I just need support as I'm getting tested on Monday, and will have to let her know the test results next week. I did read that sometimes it coud take months to several years to have the infection and then another several years to pass it. Could it be anything else? HELP

Yes it is possible. It can indeed remain dormant for months or even years before any symptoms appear. Luckily, because Chlamydia is just a bacterial infection, a week's worth of antibiotics will cure it.

I hope she is getting tested too?

I heard that if you waited 7 days to get tested the results were 100 accurate?
