Hi everyone. After a VERY unsuccessful year on Yasmin (depression/anxiety, and periods that were as bad as before the pill), my doctor switched me to Nuvaring this week. I was just wondering all of you like nuvaring. What, if any, side effects did you have? And for anyone who's been on Yasmin, did you have any problems when getting off it? Any information you might have would be helpful! Thanks so much!

Hi. Well, I posted a question about NuvaRing some time ago and nobody seemed to know or to be interested ;)
Anyway, I'm starting with it tomorrow, and I'm quite nervous because I've never used any BC method, so I don't know what to expect. NuvaRing is supposed to be better because it's "softer" than BCP. But I can't tell the effects until I try. If anyone can share some light I'd be really thankfull too.

Thanks.

I've never been on Yasmin, but I have been on the Nuvaring for the past 2 months. I was on Alesse for about a year but I had to stop because of bad side effects.

I love the Nuvaring. I have no side effects, and it has helped ease my menstrual cramps. It's only been 2 months, but so far so good. I highly recommend it.

Vlasik, thank you very much for your response. I was supposed to start with NuvaRing but my doctor wants to do some more tests. I had no idea it was so complicated, but whatever she says, I guess.

Have you or your boyfriend experienced any discomfort with it... Sorry to ask but well, it's there in the middle after all, right?

Hi! I was on the NuvaRing some time ago for a couple of months. I was one of the unfortunate ones that it causes bacterial vaginosis. My doctor told me that my body would either be okay with a foreign object in there or it would not. And it was very unfortunate in my opinion. Aside from that, I LOVED the NuvaRing. It doesn't cause any decreased libido, like many of the pills do. As a matter of fact, it greatly increased in my case! My husband did not feel a thing when we were together. He only knew it was there because I told him. I did have a little heavier cramps, but not bad enough to make me want to change. Had it not been for the bv, I would have stuck to this birth control like glue! I thought it was great. Also, I didn't have any increased breast tenderness, nausea, headaches or breakouts of acne. As an added note - I have always been prone to getting bv. Good Luck!! :)

I started the Nuvaring about a month ago and I only had minimal problems with it. During the first week of using it, i was having lower back aches and cramping - but it went away about the second week. My breasts were also a little bit sore.. but nothing too bad. Plus they grew about a cup size :bouncing: so thats a plus. I absolutely LOVE it. My boyfriend can sometimes feel it, but he says that it doesnt bother him - in fact in one position he felt it, but actually LIKED it. lol.. but if it does bother your SO's, then remember that you can take it out for up to 3 hours and it doesnt change the effectiveness at all.

I have a suggestion for you guys too - there's a Yahoo Group board that talks about only Nuvaring.. everything u need to know/ask is on there! =P let me know if u guys cant find it.
