So, I don't have much experience with this sort of thing, but if I was given a hand job with saliva as a lubricant, is it possible for me to contract something?

Yep. Saliva is, after all, a body fluid, and body fluids can contain bacteria and viruses. The odds are low, however, but not not zero, or transmitting and STD.
