Laura  HAIRDOER 08-11-2004, 11:34 AM My daughter has it too and we found the only thing that makes it go away is Elidel. It is a cream that you put on several times a day and it works in a day. You have to have a prescription so call the Dr. Good luck!!I have one question for you. Do either of you have asthma? I think it is pretty common for people to have both. elatedgiraffe 08-11-2004, 11:51 AM Elidel worked for me as well. :) Blondee15 08-12-2004, 12:24 AM elidel doesn't help me lol. then again I am considered in the very severe range of eczema. what has helped me the most is environmental changes. no more carpet, all hardwood floors, avoidance of anything that may trigger, cetaphil lotion, etc. Basically removing all possibilities at home has helped as me & my entire family suffer. If you want me to elaborate more, let me know cuz I am tired as all heck right now and I don't feel like typing it all right now lol. Happysniffer 08-12-2004, 10:18 AM My son had eczema when he was very young (4) and he had asthma! He was allergic to almost everything. His doctor recommened Nevia cream, I hope that is the correct spelling? You can find this cream at most any store, it comes in a blue container. It worked for him. But a prescription would probably be stronger. MrsLee 08-13-2004, 02:34 PM I got tested for allergies to determine what was causing my eczema (skin test at the dermatologists' office). I found out I was allergic to many products I was using. Now that I avoid them, my eczema has improved. I also use a steroid cream called protopic when I get outbreaks of it. rush_rulz 08-13-2004, 03:45 PM I, too have excema and have had it since I was very young. I have been using this cream called Elocon and I like it a lot. However, if you want something non prescription I've noticed this baby excema cream I think by Gentle Naturals and you can find it at most wal marts. It helps a lot and smells good, too! As far as asthma yes we have it. Thanks for the input. Laura :) oldwheat 08-17-2004, 09:10 PM Hello all, Well Nivia won't work we tried it years ago. Yes I know that we are allergic to a ton of stuff. Some day I will get a home with hard wood floors. We are using as many natural items as possible. Laura :D oldwheat 08-17-2004, 09:15 PM Thanks everyone for your help. Now I feel like we will get some relief!!! I will have to report back to you all in a new post in the future. Laura  |
