Hi, just found out I get to have a LEEP. Really not looking forward to it after the fun I just had having 6 biopsies taken. Ow.

I was wondering what the recovery time for a LEEP is? Do I need to take time off of work? I know when I had the biopsies it took about a day before I could sit down and bend over without cramping.

Also, how long will I be wearing a pad? I had to wear one for about 4 days after the biopsy.

I would ask my doctor, but she's out of town for a week.

I would plan on taking the day you have the LEEP off of work. I had some cramping and the emotional toll left me exhausted. I tried coming to work but then had to go home because it was too much. The good news is by the next day, I was completely fine.

As far as wearing a pad, I had discharge for about 3 weeks (although I found that a panty liner was enough).

That's wonderful news. :) My doc told me after my biopsy (and sorry to sound like such a whiner about that!) that I may not feel good for about 3 days. I felt fine the next day which was another wonderful surprise. :)

Bad news about the pad - I hate 'em! But if it means that I may have gotten all that may become a awful problem taken care of, I'll take 3 weeks. :)

I just had a Leep done today 8/10/04 I was so scared my blood pressure was sky high. Everything went fine though, I was placed under sedation and didn't even realize it was done. The doctor told me to stay out of work for 3 days but I will return in 2 I am doing an externship and it is over on the 13th that is the only reason why I am returning early. As far as discharge it varies from person to person. I'm sure you will be fine. Good Luck

on the really optimistic side after my leep I went back to work four hours later because I was bored at home. I had slight cramping but really not all that worse than what I had with the colposcopies. Good luck
