View Full Version : Severe Creaking or Grinding of Spine?

I have arthritis and for the last 1- 1/2 years my spine has become SO CREAKY & GRINDING!!! I'm only 45 but I sound like I'm 95! My doctors haven't really heard it much...(kind of like when you take your car in to the shop, it doesn't make the noise you tell the mechanic it usually makes). But, it does it constantly! It's not painful (I have pain elsewhere)... just disturbing because my spine sounds like a bendable knee of a "twist & turn barbie". (the doctors do tell me if it doesn't hurt, don't worry about it). :bouncing: undefined

Anyone else have this?

Thanks,
Lisa

It's possible there's some cartilage deterioration or small spurs or even a hurnia. I agree with the doctors if it doesn't hurt I wouldn't do anything at this poing. However, if if starts to hurt or if you get a sudden onset of severe pain or numbness in any of your extremities you should be checked out. An Xray may show some problems however, a MRI will give better detail.
